Fried Quinoa porridge with Croatian Cold Pressed Extra Virgin Olive Oil

18 Nov

Fried Quinoa? Yes it’s absolutely yummy! This is based on my Croatian dad’s recipe of fried oatmeal with sweet paprika. Try it, you will love it!

Selo oils produces this wonderful Croatian olive oil found at http://www.selooils.com. I have been creating recipes with the selo oil for a while now. Here is one of my recipes below.

How to make this:

Make the quinoa porridge according to package directions. Let cool then in a sauté pan place about 2 cups of the porridge in a sauté pan with about 2 tablespoons of avocado oil. Let this cook for about 20 minutes on low heat. Sprinkle Himalayan pink sea salt on top. Then when a crispy golden crust forms on the bottom them it’s ready! For the finale. Drizzle Croatian coldpressed extra-virgin olive oil on top. Serves 2

This simple recipe is delicious! In a small bowl mix 1 cup almond meal, one cup walnut meal, one cup coconut sugar, a pinch of salt, 1/2 of honey and 1 cup granola. Secret ingredient is olive oil. Add half a cup of olive oil to this mix and stir well and press over a casserole full of raspberries. Bake this for 30 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
